Hong Kong Combined Scientific Meeting in Anaesthesia 2005
- Product launch
- Queen Mary Hospital Liver transplant team study to replace their CO monitoring with the USCOM device.
Pacific Medical Systems Ltd was again invited to be a sponsor the Combined Scientific Meeting in Anaesthesia 2005 in Hong Kong.
Though titled, “New Horizons in Anaesthesia”, the meeting had a concurrent theme “East meets West in Pain Medicine”, which represented an official Satellite Meeting of the 11th World Congress on Pain, held in Sydney, Australia last week.
Over 200 participants from local and overseas were present for this 2-day event.
Pacific Medical Systems Ltd showcased the USCOM device, a non-invasive, beat-to-beat, Cardiac Output Monitor based on the proven doppler technology.
The Liver Transplant team at Queen Mary Hospital presented a paper with a study to replace their current means of CO monitoring with the USCOM device.
The new USCOM features which include the real-time calculation and display of Systemic Vascular Resistance were very well received by the many visitors, who expressed amazement in the ease in which beat-to-beat haemodynamics information including Cardiac Output can be obtained, right there at the exhibition booth.
Also on display was the newly launched Esaote MyLab30CV, a high-end performance echocardiography system which fit neatly into a compact, highly portable package; as well as the Cardiac Science range of AEDs and CRM.
Pacific Medical Systems Ltd also attended the Golden Jubilee Celebration Dinner of the Society of Anaesthetists of Hong Kong, with distinguished guest, Dr. Z. Lett, 88 years young, the founding member of the society, returning to Hong Kong for this special occasion. Dr. Z. Lett’s speech offered us a nostalgic guide on the history of the Society of Anaesthetists of Hong Kong and its members who celebrated their 50th Anniversary.
