Seminar on Advances in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Successfully Hosts by Pacific Medical Systems Limited

Pacific Medical Systems recently hosted an evening seminar titled "Advances in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery - MICS" on Thursday, 30th October 2025, at the Conrad Hong Kong Hotel. The event was well-received, attracting over 20 senior cardiothoracic surgeons from leading local institutions, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of professional exchange.

The seminar focused on the latest developments and clinical challenges in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS). The event was honoured to feature Dr. Markus Czesla, Senior Consultant from the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Klinikum Passau, Germany, as the keynote speaker. The proceedings were moderated by Prof. Daniel Chan, Honorary Consultant from the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital (QMH). The experts delivered in-depth insights into repair techniques for minimally invasive mitral and tricuspid valve surgery, with a significant focus on the innovative smartcanula. Discussions covered its introduction, cannulation techniques, and solutions to common clinical challenges, providing attendees with valuable practical knowledge.

The event successfully facilitated international academic exchange and highlighted the significant advantages of the smartcanula. As a next-generation surgical tool, its integrated "All in one vision" concept—combining perfusion, venting, and aortic root drainage into a single cannula—demonstrates notable benefits in streamlining procedural steps, providing controlled drainage, and enabling active air removal for MICS procedures.

Pacific Medical Systems was privileged to receive steadfast support from Hong Kong's cardiothoracic surgery community, including the participation of key opinion leaders such as Prof. Daniel Chan (QMH), Prof. Howard Chan (QEH) and Prof. Randolph Wong (PWH). Their presence greatly enriched the depth and representativeness of the discussions.

Pacific Medical Systems remains committed to introducing advanced international medical technologies and solutions to the local market. By organizing high-quality professional education events, the company aims to support the advancement of local healthcare standards and improve patient outcomes.
